SLP33xD Smart Single Point Load Cell
Aluminum single point load cells with integrated PLC connectivity and condition monitoring.
The SLP33xD smart single point load cells save time in the machine design phase and during installation, reduce complexity, and connect directly to automation systems. Onboard adjustment to temperature changes in the environment enables precise weighing results, while alarms and condition monitoring help you to ensure high machine uptime and optimal performance.
Integrated PLC Connectivity
The SLP33xD single point load cells can be directly connected to automation systems via IO-Link. No additional electronic unit is needed, which saves space in the machine and reduces installation time. The SLP33xD load cells are equipped with standard M12 industrial connectors enabling error-free installation.
Smart5™ Alarms and Condition Monitoring
Onboard electronics enable the SLP33xD load cells to deliver continuous condition monitoring information. The operator or control system is immediately notified when the weighing results may be impacted, thanks to the Smart5™ alarms. Corrective actions are suggested and can be applied without delay; thus, machine downtime is reduced to the minimum.
Wide Capacity Range
SLP33xD load cells are available in a wide capacity range, from 10 kg to 500 kg, covered by 3 different form factors. Replacement of analog load cells in any machine design is straighforward and does not require redesign of the mechanical setup.
Multiple Applications and Global Approvals
The SLP33xD single point load cells can be used in any application where the weighing information is needed. Filling, dosing and packaging machines can be built with the SLP33xD load cell, as well as high performance and accurate loss-in-weight feeders.
Regardless of where the machine is installed and operated, METTLER TOLEDO provides the necessary global approvals (OIML, NTEP, CPA, ATEX, FM, etc.).
FAQ
What is a single point load cell used for?
Single point load cells are used to build a scale where one load cell is sufficient. The scale can be part of any production machine where the weight information is needed in the process, e.g. filling machines can be built on single point load cells, or machines checking the completeness of the packages leaving the warehouse. Loss-in-weight feeders are another example of scales using single point load cells.
What are the benefits of integrated connectivity?
Integrated connectivity on the single point load cell saves space in the machine or in the control cabinet. There is no need for an extra box to convert the load cell's analog signal; it is done on the load cell. Integrated connectivity saves also time during installation, as it simplifies the cabling.
Are the SLP33xD load cells more accurate that analog load cells?
The SLP33xD single point load cells have the latest technology on-board; advanced algorithms monitor the changes in the environmental temperature and adjust the weight signal. Non-linearity and hysteresis effects are adjusted as well. In addition, noise filtering algorithms deliver stable weighing signals.
How is condition monitoring used to increase machine uptime?
SLP33xD single point load cells deliver continuous status information using the Smart5™ alarming system. Whenever a problem occurs or the load cell requires maintenance, the operator or control system is immediately notified and can take action. This means the machine is stopped only for the fix, and the downtime is minimal.
